Value Engineering
While the term “value engineering” is thrown around quite a bit and often misunderstood, the essential aim of value engineering is really quite simple: to reduce waste and help that all-important bottom line. Here at J. Gibson McIlvain, we can provide this valuable service as your allies in helping you achieve your goals. Especially in a world in which we’re all used to manufactured products and having things built to our specifications, sometimes we all need to be reminded that lumber is a naturally occurring resource and, as such, comes with limitations. We can help you make sure that the designs that look good on paper are actually achievable; if they’re not, we can make suggestions on slight changes to species or size that will save you and your customers plenty of frustration – and cash!
